Chapel Choir in national final
These are exciting times for the Chapel Choir, as they've reached the final of the BBC Songs of Praise School Choir of the Year 2007. The BBC has received entries from all over the country, and to date over 4000 children have been involved. As well as singing in the Chapel at all services, the 50-strong Choir have been busy practising their pieces for the competition: Angel Voices Ever Singing (Hymn) and Be Thou My Vision (Bob Chilcott). They'll be travelling to Manchester in February to film the final, with transmission in early spring.
Colin Albery, Director of Music at King's, said "We are very proud to have reached this level of the competition. The standard of singing at King's is very high, and it is fantastic to receive some external recognition; I am very proud of them all."
