New Headmaster for King's

Following Chris Ramsey’s announcement that he will be leaving King's College in September 2007, the Council has appointed a new Headmaster.

The Council of King’s College has appointed Mr Richard Biggs to be the next Head of the School; he will take up his appointment with effect from 1 September 2007 when Chris Ramsey moves to The King’s School, Chester.

Richard Biggs (43) is currently the Second Master (Deputy Head) of Lancing College in West Sussex, a sister Woodard School. He has also been Acting Head of Lancing. Previously, Mr Biggs was Director of Studies and a House Tutor at Magdalen College School, Oxford. He has degrees from the Universities of Cape Town (BA in Physics) and Oxford (MA in Maths and Philosophy - he was a Rhodes Scholar at Pembroke College, and was awarded an Oxford Half Blue in Fencing).

Richard is married (to Sarah, a journalist) and has two sons (Henry - 8 and Oliver - 5). He is a Tennis and Hockey coach and player, and represented his universities in Fencing. His outside interests include music and sailing.
