Pupils Train with GB Hockey Stars

Some of our pupils enjoyed a fantastic day of hockey coaching at Repton School last week, where they were put through their paces by GB Olympic gold medallists Alex Danson, and Hollie Webb – who scored the winning goal in the Olympic final.

Beth Barzotelli, Georgia Hallett, Tom Hall and Patrick McSwiggan, accompanied by Mrs Similien and Mrs Hayes, spent the day taking part in a variety of sessions with international players and coaches, that not only included Alex and Hollie, but also Mo Furste, the most successful German player of all time.

The sessions included a drag-flicking clinic, which was coached by Toon Siepman, the Dutch Women's drag flick coach. There was also an opportunity to play some indoor hockey which the King's players found very enjoyable.

Overall it was a wonderful day and everyone, including the coaches, gained something to take back to their hockey at King's.
