Multi-talented Sam Goes from Strength to Strength
Lent Term has been a busy one for Third Form pupil Sam Cobb.
Not only is he a talented cross-country runner, he is also a talented rider, and is proving himself as quite the multi-sportsman. He plays hockey for our Under 14 team, and rides for the school and pony club, competing successfully in eventing, show jumping and also in tetrathlon and pentathlon. Demonstrating his adaptability, Sam won the Area 15 second round Dengie Show Jumping competition after playing hockey on the morning of the equestrian event!
Competing at the National Pony Club Triathlon Finals in Milton Keynes recently, Sam finished second overall, coming away with the best run prize (4.43 - 1500m), a personal best in the swim and a 960-point shoot. His performance places him second nationally.
Having had a solid cross country season, Sam attended the English Schools Championships in Norwich. He was part of the winning Somerset team, placed 4th in the team and 88th overall in a field of 355 runners.
There is no rest for the young athlete however, as he took part in the Rosslyn Park 7s competition for our Under 14 rugby team this week and will also be representing King’s in the National Schools Biathlon Finals at Crystal Palace this coming weekend.
We wish you every success, Sam!
