More Success for Sam Cobb

All-round athlete Sam Cobb has had a pretty hectic time lately, despite being on his summer holidays from King’s College.

On the final weekend of term, Sam was in Launceston competing in the South West Pony Club Tetrathlon championships (shoot, swim, run and ride) that he won, and qualified for the national finals that takes place in Yorkshire later in August.

The 13 year-old, who lives at Burrowbridge, has also had an invitation to be put forward for the international event in this discipline that takes place in Ireland.

The young athlete has also just returned from Portugal (Setabul) where he was competing for Great Britain in the European Championships in both the Triathle (continuous - shoot, swim, run) and the Biathle (continuous- run, swim, run).

Sam enjoyed huge success winning two gold medals and two silver medals:

Gold - In the Mixed Triathle Relay - one boy and one girl - he was paired with a girl from Devon

Gold - Team Gold for Great Britain in the Biathle Event

Silver - Individual Silver in the Biathle.

On the back of these recent successes, Sam has been selected as part of the British team to go to Viverio in Spain to compete in the 2017 World Championships later in the year.
