This term’s Languages Soirée was another resounding success, with some fantastic songs and poems showcasing our talented linguists.
This year’s host was Edward
Hayden-Briffett, who very adeptly presented the Soirée in French, Spanish and
Eleanor Clarke, accompanied by Mr Albery,
gave a dazzling performance of Chanson
D'amour music by Faure, and Mikhail Vtornikov recited from memory a
beautiful poem called The Prophet.
Guy Milton-Jenkins also gave a brilliant
rendition of Le Cancre by Jacques
Prevert, while Mrs Edwards astounded the audience of pupils and staff with her
beautiful voice when she sang a Welsh song called Heaven.
Thank you to everyone who contributed – it was a
wonderful evening and one that shows the breadth of languages spoken here across
our King’s community.
