King's High Flyers
Four of our top academic students were celebrating this week when they heard they had been offered places at Oxford and Cambridge Universities. William Cashmore has been offered a place at The Queen's College, Oxford to read Politics, Philosophy and Economics, Grace Albery has a place to read Psychology and Linguistics at Worcester College, Oxford, where she has also gained a choral scholarship. Matthew Thorne will be heading to Peterhouse, Cambridge to read to Economics, and Guy Torrance, who left last summer, has been offered a place to read Medicine at Trinity Hall, Cambridge.
Our pupils benefit from an excellent programme of careers and UCAS application support from experienced and dedicated staff – Patrick Scanlan (Oxbridge Tutor) and Oliver Ridley (Head of Sixth Form) have played a huge part in these successes.
Headmaster Richard Biggs said: "Academic excellence lies at the very heart of life at King's, and it is extremely pleasing to see two of the best universities in the world recognise the talent, hard work and dedication of some of our most gifted pupils. I congratulate Will, Grace, Matt and Guy warmly on their success. We have had a strong run of Oxbridge success over the past years, which underlines the academic credentials of this school.”
