King's Celebrate with National Schools Netball Competition

King’s College celebrated the opening of their new sports dome by hosting the Somerset stages of the Under 14 and Under 16 Girls’ National Schools Netball competition.

There was some outstanding netball played in the dome and at the end of the day the King’s Under 16s qualified for the regionals.

Playing against Millfield, Wells Cathedral, Taunton School and King’s Bruton, the Under 16 team won three of their four games and ended as runners-up to the team from Millfield.

Head of Netball Imogen Pardoe said: “All ten girls played exceptionally well from start to finish – all making a huge impact on the games. The team performance was superb.

“Alice Dymond had an exceptional tournament; she remained calm and composed and turned over a huge amount of ball.”

The girls qualified for the Regional tournament in January in Bournemouth.

Also in attendance was our Director of Development Julian Mack. He had invited benefactors who had donated funds to our Sports Hub Appeal to come along to see the dome in action. They were both impressed with the new facility and were delighted to see our girls progress to the next round of the competition.
