Rugby is growing ever more popular with women and girls in recent years, particularly after the success of the England Ladies team. King’s College is no exception, with girls showing an increased interest in the sport.

In response to this demand, girls’ rugby has recently been offered as a sport to our female athletes.

Director of Rugby, Ed Lewsey said: “Some of our players are new to the game, while others have played club rugby for several years.”

“With this in mind, we have introduced touch rugby in order to build the girls’ skills and confidence before introducing 7s contact rugby.”

He added: "Several local schools have a rugby provision for their girls and we hope to be able to play regular fixtures before too long."

For pupils looking at Sixth Form education in September 2018, scholarships are available. Please contact our admissions team for details: 01823 328204 / admissions@kings-taunton.co.uk.
