Geography Field Trip to Jacob's Ladder
Months of meteorological planning went into ensuring the U6th had splendid weather for their annual field trip to Jacob's Ladder in Sidmouth.
The day comprised of data gathering for their A2 examination, in which they were trying to work out whether pebble shape, size, and beach gradient changed in the perceived direction of longshore drift.
The testing of geographical theories, and understanding how to undertake an investigation, are crucial for their examination, and the pupils performed these tasks well.
The afternoon was spent in Sidmouth where we learnt about coastal defences from Mr Llewelyn-Eaton, rounding off with a well-deserved ice cream!
