Fourth Former Katie Beale has returned to King’s in high spirits after representing the Under 15 Wessex Leopards at the recent Futures Cup Hockey competition.

The competition runs over four days, during which the Wessex Leopards played against squads from six different regions across the UK.

The National Age Group (NAG’s) coaches attend the tournament and they select the Under 16 England squad from this group of players.

The Wessex Leopards beat the Celtic Jaguars 5-0, but unfortunately lost 2-1 to the Pennine Pumas to finish runners up in their pool.

In the play off for the bronze medal, the Leopards were beaten by the Saxon Tigers to finish fourth overall.

Since returning to school, Katie has been playing regularly for Taunton Vale Ladies Second XI, and attends the Performance Centre every other week, as well as playing for King’s.

Director of Hockey, Clare Hayes, said: “Katie is a very talented hockey player. She has worked hard at developing her game and thoroughly deserves her recognition.
