Our Under 15 team got the new term off to a flying start when they beat Monmouth School 24-12 to progress into the last eight of the National Plate competition.

We took an early lead thanks to some excellent handling by our organised forward pack, leading to Charlie Sharland scoring under the posts and converting.

The lead was soon doubled following another outstanding piece of skill from Charlie, before he off-loaded to George Thomas who scored a try that was also converted.

The squad extended their lead further when good work by Oliver Dummett and Matt Osbourne saw Charlie go over in the corner for an unconverted try, making it 19-0 at the interval.

Monmouth came out fighting in the second half, with two tries in the opening 10 minutes seeing them close the gap 19-12.

We then rallied, and with the energy of the replacements injecting a new lease of life, found ourselves on the front foot again. The pressure resulted in a trademark driving lineout in the corner that saw Dominic Frampton score.

After a very close final 10 minutes, the boys secured their place in the final eight, where they will face Dean Close on 31st January.
