Our boarding houses regularly organise and run charity events in support of local and national charities.

This term, Meynell House held a festival-themed Silent Disco in aid of Multiple Sclerosis UK and Macmillan Cancer Support, two charities that are close to the hearts of our pupils.

To publicise the event, the Lower Sixth girls spoke passionately about their chosen charities, explaining to their fellow pupils how the raised funds would help those affected by MS and cancer.

Somerset Silent Disco supplied the equipment, with the Meynell girls creating three playlists for the hired headphones. From chart hits to 80s throwbacks, everyone’s musical tastes were covered. The girls also organised refreshments and snacks for all who attended; the perfect fuel for a long night of dancing.

With nearly 200 pupils attending the event, and an impressive sum of £700 raised over the course of the evening, Meynell’s disco proved to be one of the most popular and successful events this term.

We now look forward to the Summer Term, where we hope to continue raising funds for local and national charities.
