King's Pupils Rock!
It’s not all about orchestras and choirs at King’s College; our music pupils also know how to rock!
The annual Rock and Pop Concert certainly packed a punch this week as pupils from various years came together to perform some of their favourite songs.
We were treated to covers from a range of bands including Oasis, The Arctic Monkeys (complete with Yorkshire accent!), ELO, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Green Day.
Sound and lighting – and the odd cloud from the smoke machine – created an atmospheric backdrop to the terrific music on offer.
Commenting, Head of Academic Music, Karen Paul, said: “We really do have some fantastic musicians, who all enjoy performing in various types of music concerts. To see them all tonight, working together and really enjoying playing their favourite rock and pop songs was just brilliant. Many of them are accomplished in more than one instrument and tonight was the perfect opportunity to showcase their talents!”
Performing were: Henry Adcock; Flo Keeling; Will Smale; Ranulf Mason; Andrew Hayden-Briffett; Jimmy Yeung; Charly Sly; Johnnie Drysdale; Louis Benneyworth; Ellie Redford; Tim Roberts; Matt Osborne; Oli Baines; and Cora Frith-Fletcher.
