Footballing Success for our Girls!
It has been a hugely successful term for the footballers at King's College, Taunton. The boys teams have had a number of fantastic games this season, but it is in the girls' national competitions where King's continues to excel. The U18 girls have made it through to the semi-finals of the ISFA (Independent Schools Football Association) competition and the U15 girls recently got into the National Sisters in Sport U15 schools competition. They also got through to the quarter-finals of the ISFA U15 competition. Furthermore the U18 team sit at the top of the Southern area Women's CEFA league (which includes Swindon Town, Plymouth Argyle, Bristol City and Reading FC). They are currently one point ahead of Swindon Town, however it looks unlikely we will resume and finish this league now.
Director of Sport at King's College, Phil Lewis, said: "It has been another fabulous football season and I must thank Karen Paul, James Ward and the rest of the football coaching staff for the time and effort they have put in. I am so pleased to see some of these accomplishments, even though they are merely the icing on the cake. The sponge is the enjoyment and willingness to work hard. I am so pleased for everyone involved in football here at King's."
