Athletes Selected to Represent at South West Championships

Well done to our five musicians who entertained us this afternoon in the first #LiveLounge performance of the Lent… https://t.co/ohB6UyKK0l - 11 hours ago

In surprisingly good conditions, runners from King’s College enjoyed success at the Somerset Schools Cross Country Championships last Saturday afternoon at Aldon Hill in Yeovil.

The leading performance came from Sam Cobb, who finished second in the hotly contested Intermediate Boys’ race – which was arguably the best event of the day.

Fred Fisher finished well in the same event, while his younger brother, Jake, did even better in the Junior Boys’ race, where he was well supported by Jacob Wakeling and Henry Hawkins who came in mere seconds behind.

Lara Chapple (Intermediate Girl), Abby Hughes (Junior Girl) and Harriet Fox (Senior Girl) all tried hard on a testing course, the latter struggling with an illness.

Sam Cobb, Jake Fisher and Harriet Fox have all been selected to represent Somerset Schools at the South West Schools Championships in Bath on February 2, with Jacob Wakeling, Henry Hawkins, Fred Fisher and Lara Chapple nominated as reserves for their age groups.
