Girls' Hockey

A fantastic learning environment that is totally player centred.
- this is what we seek to create for our players here at King’s.

We are very much focused on the individual and helping them to be the best they can be, whether that is a top international; someone who wants to play a good standard of club hockey or someone who wants to play just for fun.

In order to create the right environment, we need the right coaches. Our staff are passionate about hockey and we match the coaches to the squads to get the right fit. We also offer specialist goalkeeper coaching.

We coach according to the England Hockey Coaching Philosophy which helps if players wish to progress through the England Hockey Player Pathway but also if they just want to play, learn and develop their hockey.

We run 4 senior teams and two junior teams per age group below this. We enter the National Schools competitions at U14, U16 and U18 level and have a full and varied fixture programme.

To try to give our players a richness of experience we regularly take trips to the National Indoor Finals and to International Hockey Fixtures. We have guest coaches in and organise sports tours to ensure our players experience hockey in its entirety.

Our players have access to our fantastic facilities, and can play hockey all year around, playing indoor, outdoor and we have a close relationship with Taunton Vale Hockey Club, where we encourage our players to participate. We also hold a number of hockey camps throughout the year: Ages 6-10; Ages 10-18.
