Facilities for hire
King's College occupies a secluded and beautiful site of over 100 acres on the south side of Taunton, and just a few minutes from the town centre. The main building is an outstanding example of nineteenth-century architecture, and the School Chapel is a striking blend of ancient and modern. There is ample parking, and the school also boasts modern kitchens that provide excellent food for all occasions.
The King's Theatre was opened in January 2000, and seats 250 delegates in comfortable, raked seating. A smaller Conference room can accommodate up to 50 people, and other syndicate rooms are available in and adjacent to The Theatre. There are excellent audio and video facilities, and light refreshments and buffet lunches can also be served within the conference venue.
The Woodard Room is a lofty, spacious, beamed and prestigious setting for any meeting. This was once 'Big School', and housed all the teaching when the school moved from the centre of town in the 1880s. Now The Woodard Room is a flexible area, which can provide a memorable meeting place, or reception area for large numbers, and lunches or dinners can also be served. The Dining Hall, with its shields listing the names of those who have represented the school from the nineteenth century onwards, provides a setting for the special occasion. Up to 100 can lunch or dine here in an ambience that is unique.
King's College also has the finest concert hall in Taunton in its Chapel. This will seat up to 400, with excellent acoustics for the performers.
