Extra-Curricular Activities
King's offers a vast and varied array of extra-curricular activities, unparalleled for a school of its size, from sport and drama to music and outdoor pursuits, from CCF and dance to cookery and debating. Importantly King's tries to ensure that as far as possible there are no conflicts of interest between the various activities.
Outdoor activities are well catered for within the umbrella of the CCF, and alongside that are the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze and Gold award schemes. Kayaking takes place in the pool in winter and in the surf or rapids in the warmer weather. The school has its own climbing wall and groups also go climbing in Devon. The CCF runs a Navy, Army and Marines section, and the Royal Marines section recently won the Sir Steuart Pringle trophy.
On a more cerebral note, there is inter-house debating as well as a school debating and public speaking team. For budding entrepreneurs, the King's Business Group runs a new enterprise every year. Many of the academic departments also run their own clubs outside the classroom curriculum.
