Educated at King’s College, Roger studied History at Leeds University, achieving his PhD in 1970 and then returned to King’s College to become the Deputy Headmaster. For a few years, Roger’s position combined the role of Director of Studies and running a boarding house. He was involved in all aspects of school life, including the finances of the school, planning and implementation of future projects and the organisation of major events.

Since retiring in 2003, Roger has become the President of the Old Aluredian club and has researched the history of the Mott family, publishing a book, ‘In a Quiet Sort of Way’, in 2006.

Our Pringle team have returned victorious after competing in the Sir Steuart Pringle Trophy Competition at CTCRM Lympstone. This prestigious military competition is attended by schools from across the country, and challenges leadership, teamwork, decision-making, fitness and specific military knowledge.

Not only did the team win the overall title, they also lifted five individual trophies, making this the best result in the school's history.
